David Smales MBA, BEng (Hons)

David Smales is the Chief Executive Officer of Energy Queensland. David is a senior industry leader with over 30 years’ experience in technical, operational, asset management, corporate and senior executive roles, with a track record of value delivery in large blue chip energy companies. Prior to joining Energy Queensland, David was General Manager Generation at Origin Energy, responsible for all aspects of a portfolio of energy assets. David has significant international experience, working as the Head of Biomass Co-firing for Drax Power and Portfolio Projects Manager at Centrica Power Generation in the United Kingdom.

Peter Scott Dip Bus, B Bus, MBA, MPA FCPA

Peter Scott is the Interim Chief Financial Officer of Energy Queensland. Peter has extensive executive experience as a CFO and has held other senior executive roles in local government and government-owned corporations. Peter has most recently worked as CFO at Energex. Prior to this he was CFO of Seqwater. He has also held positions including Project Director at SEQ Bulk Water Company Ltd and CEO of Wide Bay Water Corporation as well as Deputy CEO and CFO of Unitywater. Peter has also worked in a variety of banking and government/semi-government roles in regional Queensland from Maryborough to Townsville.

Roslyn Baker BCom (Accounting) MBA Dip.FM GAICD

Roslyn Baker is Transition Chief Operating Officer, Ergon Energy. Roslyn has more than 18 years’ experience in senior leadership and commercial roles including working in complex regulatory and political environments. Roslyn joined the electricity industry in 2010 as Executive General Manager of Ergon’s Retail business. She has a keen interest in economic development and currently holds a position on the Committee for Regional Development Australia (Townsville and North West Queensland).

Peter Billing

Peter Billing is the Acting General Manager Distribution Shared Services, Energy Queensland. Peter is responsible for the operational effectiveness of the distribution business and for the safe, efficient operation and maintenance of the network. Peter was directly involved in the deregulation of the electricity industry in South Australia in the 1990s. He is on the board of Energy Skills Queensland.
